Board of Directors

Cindy Cahalen has been at The Ormewood School since its beginning in 2006. She started out teaching the 1- and 2-year-old classes and moved into the role of director in the spring of 2008 when the founding director left. She really enjoys this role, as it allows her to spend time with all the classes, getting to know all of the children. She is originally from Massachusetts and have been living in Atlanta for the past 20 years. She has three adult children: Thomas, Coleman, and and MK. Cindy also has a B.S. in Environmental Science from UMASS Amherst and has been a certified massage therapist for over 25 years. In her spare time she loves to read, garden, play pool, and hit the beach.

This is the start of Kathy Corcoran’s 8th year teaching at The Ormewood School and her 4th year teaching the Pre-K class. She lives in Oakhurst with her husband John and her 2 girls; Jessa (almost 17) and Adrianna (15). She loves to go sailing,  hiking, and traveling to new places. Kathy looks forward to a wonderful year having fun and getting messy!

Rachel and her family loves the community of teachers, staff, and families at The Ormewood School. The school has been a great place for Hollis to learn and grow and she looks forward to giving back and supporting the board in any way she can.

She joined the Ormewood School Board in 2021 to become more involved in the community. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking and going to concerts. She loves the Ormewood School environment, teachers and families. She enjoys being a part of the school board and is looking forward to continuing to be a part of the school community over the next few years when her second child can attend the school.
